SALEM ORCHESTRA MUSIC ACADEMY 2024

Salem Orchestra is offering a unique musical experience designed to help your gifted and motivated students hone their ensemble skills, through the performance of chamber music. Salem Orchestra will be offering a Music Academy designed to foster leadership, make music, and create companions from Tuesday, July 30 through Friday, August 2. Our goal is to provide a summer opportunity for students to grow and expand their musical maturity so that they may return for the beginning of the school year ready to make a positive impact to those around them.

There are two halves to the day at the academy. For the first half of the day, all participating students will rehearse for the full chamber ensemble. The second half of the day advanced students will break into smaller, self-directed quartets. Space is limited, so some students may participate in only the full chamber ensemble. Tuition for students accepted into the all-day program is $100 per student. Tuition for students only participating in a half day (either the morning core or afternoon ensembles) is $75. Lunch will be provided for all students regardless of their program involvement.

At the end of the program, every ensemble as well as the full chamber group will have the opportunity to perform for a live audience. This includes a side-by-side orchestral performance with musicians from Salem Orchestra on the final day.
